A simple flat bread and so commonly paired with curries and a easy dish to make perfect for any occasion. A north Indian dish which is always on the dinner party menu.

2.5 cups of all-purpose flour 4-5 tsp of beaten yogurt ½ tsp of baking powder ½ tsp of baking soda ¾ cup of water to knead 2.5 tsp of caster sugar A pinch of salt 2-3 tbsp of oil oil for frying Nigella seeds for garnishing
Making the Dough Mix all the wet and dry ingredients together and knead them. You can use your hand or a in mixer.
Make sure it is soft enough and rested well for at least 2 hours before rolling it out.
Rolling out the bread
Divide the dough into 6-8 balls depending on the size you want it.
Use a rolling pin to flatter the dough and make a circle evenly
Sprinkle a bit of Nigella seeds on it and gently press it with the help of a rolling pin
Use a iron skillet or a heavy based pan as this will require a lot of heat
Gently place it on the skillet when it is hot enough and turn it over halfway and cook the other side.
Apply a bit of ghee or oil to the bread while cooking. This will make it look brown or a toasty look.
Serve them warm with Butter chicken or your favourite curry.
